Original Art for Every Day Enjoyment

Why choose original art for every day?
I will admit, I love Monet paintings.  I've been to Paris and stood in front of many of his great works. It was an experience I will never forget. If felt magical. I felt inspired to pursue art for myself, to collect it, to admire it, to create it. But mostly, I realized how unapproachable art is for most.
Most of us don't have an opportunity to travel to art museums very often, if ever. A great majority of us purchase reproduced art from our local boutiques and big box stores for our homes. Occasionally we enjoy going to a local market to snatch up an original artwork, but often our budgets prevent us from the "good stuff" and we settle for something more affordable.  A fine art piece that an artist spends months on of course will be valued more than something that was a quick and easy project for an artist. Fine art can be glorious, but you know what? So can every day original art that you make yourself or that you purchase from a local artist.  In fact, I would argue that art purchased affordably enables you to connect more with the piece, with the artist, with the process. I didn't connect with Monet when I purchased a reproduction of his in that art museum store. I do connect with makers and artists when I step into their booth or follow their journey online.  Their art feels more approachable to me.  I like to invest in them.  I appreciate art that I can wear every day or that I don't have to worry about if a stray football knocks it over and it crashes to the floor (has happened more than once). I can display it and enjoy it and as my own style changes, I can replace it with something new that I enjoy.  I love popping in art here and there in my home.
