Easy Christmas Watercolor Card

A Handmade Christmas

Is the best and it's easier than you might think.  You'll find the tutorial to make this card at the bottom of this blog post. This Christmas watercolor design is so easy and quick.  Whether you want to batch 200 like I have, or just make a few dozen, these cards will provide for many joy filled ideas.

Hand-painted Christmas Cards

1. I made these cards to give away at my Christmas markets this season with each purchase while they last, and it was easy to create 200 because of the simple design. Although it's simple, it's also elegant and cheerful.  Think how delighted your friends and family would be to receive a hand painted watercolor card from you this Christmas. You can write on the back and tuck a family photo inside or you could print on the back and then paint if you like.

2. Are you a maker?  Do you set up to sell handmade creations are markets? Make a batch of these to sell. I usually sell my hand painted original (not prints) watercolor cards at markets for $5 (oh gosh! I just realized if I sold these at a market they would be worth $1,000 because I made 200!) or 5 for $20. These are super easy to batch.  They make for great giveaways to people who shop your booth also!

Christmas Decor

3. What is especially great about these hand-painted watercolor cards is that they can be placed in a standard frame for a 4"x6" photo.  They look so elegant in gilded frames.  I often have customers purchase packs of my cards so they can frame them and give them as gifts. It's so easy to change out the cards seasonally, so you have a beautiful rotation of seasonal decor.  I frame up a few to sell in my booth. They help my booth to look cozy and add great texture. They also help inspire shoppers to get creative and think of how they might use them in their own home or as gifts. Make up a few this holiday season and gift to your friends and family and feel the joy of having them decorate their own homes with your art. Or find my booth in KY and OH and grab a few hand painted cards!

Wedding Place Settings

4. These make the most beautiful wedding favors and really add something special to place settings.  I think wedding guests would feel extra special receiving a hand-painted Christmas card to take home and use how they like. You could even frame some for your table centerpieces and add around the venue. I always love favors that are thoughtful, useful, and beautiful. They would also be a great addition to your holiday party table settings.

Christmas Gift Wrapping Ideas

These cards can be used in a couple of ways that will really help your Christmas wrapping pop this year!

5.  My favorite way to use them is to punch a hole at the top and bottom and thread beautiful ribbon through the holes to attach to your wrapped packages.  You can write a note on the back of the card.

6. Cut them out to create hand painted bespoke gift tags that elevate any wrapped package.

The combination of both wrapping ideas creates such a beautiful compliment to Christmas wrapping.
